My name is Ellen Anton, and there are some things that you should know about me. I’m 57 years old. I’m also a mother and a grandmother. According to my children, I’m a “mean mother,” at least according to a framed poem they gave me many years ago. I took it (and still do) as a great compliment. I’m assuming that’s how they meant it. However, it wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong.

Speaking of being wrong, you should know that I have been divorced. If, at some point, we discuss the effects of divorce on parents and children, you’ll understand that I have experienced this firsthand.

Finally, you should know that my only expertise that is relevant to this website is that I have reared two children successfully. By “successfully,” I mean that both they and I not only survived the experience, but seem to have prospered.  I am not a child development expert, nor am I a psychologist or mental health professional of any kind. I am a certified school teacher, but most of my education experience came as a student, not as a teacher.
